John gave us a complete understanding of Irish history which has added immensely to our stay in Ireland. He is an amazingly learned individual and translates his knowledge into being a great guide.We would heartily recommend him. He is also an excellent driver and has a very nice Mercedes van. Hire him!

If you have read any of my other reviews, you can remember that I am a big fan of John Ducie. The tour of Kilkenny was no exception. A beautiful medieval town filled with amazing historical structures with stories that only John can recount to place you there when these events were occurring. Looking so forward to my (our) return to Ireland having John continue to inform us of our geanological roots. Cannot rate this tour and John Ducie any higher.

John was a wealth of knowledge. This was my mom’s bucket list trip and John tailored the tours perfectly to suit her mobility. She is also a retired teacher and loved all of the history. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days of tours!

I have lost count of the numbers of times that I have used John for an always interesting and informative tour around Ireland. He has an amazing range of knowledge and catered the information to our interests. This trip to the Wicklow Mountains started with John picking us up at the Dublin Airport after a red eye from the States. The drive to Wicklow and back was magnificent even with the rain and the Powerscourt Castle and grounds did not disappoint. John truly knows the pubs to stop at that paint a picture of times past and serve wonderful meals (and refreshments). Can’t miss using John as your your guide all over Ireland. I give John my highest recommendation!

Our garden tour with John was simply outstanding. The timings were spot-on and John’s expertise made the gardens come alive. He was able to impart a tremendous amount of knowledge and insight in a clear and understandable way for us (garden lovers but not gardening experts). John is very kind and personable and clearly a subject matter expert in all things plants and gardens. Recommend John wholeheartedly and without hesitation. Simply superb day.

We had a great day with John. He was super knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. (In fact we delayed the start of the tour to do a Covid testing detour before our flight the next day). We enjoyed the beautiful gardens at Malahide Castle, a lovely lunch in Malahide village and a stroll on the gorgeous beach. Would highly recommend this tour!

Highly recommend a private tour with John over the mega bus tours. In addition to the seeing the awe inspiring Game of Thrones shooting locations (worthwhile seeing in their own right), we learned so much about Ireland’s people, history and politics. Most importantly John never rushed us, taking as much time as we liked at each location and patiently answering all of our questions, We covered a lot of ground, but the day went by quickly.

John is an ultimate professional and true expert in his fields. His guided tour of the Boyne Valley and Newgrange passage tombs site were extraordinary. We relied heavily on his guidance on the agenda and timing, and had a fantastic day. He also provided transportation in a comfortable van for our party of five. I highly recommend him for a guided tour.

John’s punctuality and breadth of knowledge is surpassed only by his beliefs and passion for his country, which he freely shares. We appreciated his kindness and enjoyed the history lessons through Kilkenny City, Glendalough, and Wicklow Mountains.

John picked our party of four on time at our ship. We saw many of the sites included on most tours including the Trinity University Library (Book of Kells), St Patricks Cathedral, Phoenix park, Dublin Palace, Guiness Brewery etc. We had a great lunch with John at Brazen Head Pub, very old and charming. John’s in depth knowledge and enthusiasm was obvious as he provided a very rich commentary on everything we saw. Our conversation at lunch was fascinating. It was a great day.
